Der Kontaminationsvorfall betrifft nicht nur das Milchpulver, wie die ersten Nachrichten behaupteten. Der chemische Stoff wurde auch in frischer Milch gefunden. Viele Supermärkte weigern sich, Milchprodukte zu verkaufen. Melamin ist ein verbotener Stoff und wie die Produzenten erklärten, sie mischten es in die Milch, weil es zu einem hĂśheren Proteinwert fĂźhrt. Die erkrankten Kinder leiden an Nierensteinen und 104 befinden sich im ernsten Gesundheitszustand. Die Erkrankung verbreitet sich nicht nur in China, sondern auch in anderen Ländern, wo die Milch exportiert wurde. Das Schlimmste aber daran ist, dass laut einigen Berichten mehrere Leute davon wussten und nichts getan haben. Nun befindet sich China in ernsthaften Problemen, da dieses Land viele Produkte produziert und viele davon gesundheitsschädlich fĂźr Menschen waren. Zum Beispiel gibt es viele chinesische Spielzeuge, die vom Markt zurĂźckgezogen werden mussten, weil sie gefährlich waren. Letztes Jahr wurde das Melamin im Tierfutter gefunden und in den USA tĂśtete es viele Katzen und Hunde. China muss sich jetzt von diesem Riesenskandal erholen und sich bemĂźhen, weitere Skandale zu vermeiden.

La enfermedad no apareciĂł sĂłlo en China, sino tambiĂŠn en otros paĂses donde la leche fue distribuida. Lo peor es que los informes dicen que algunos sabĂan de eso, pero hicieron nada. Ahora China sacude en problemas grandes porque este paĂs produce muchos productos y muchos de ellos eran malos para la salud de la gente. Por ejemplo hay muchos juguetes chinos que tenĂan que eliminarse del mercado porque eran peligrosos. El aĂąo pasado la melamina fue encontrada en alimentos para animales y esto matĂł varios gatos y perros en EE.UU.. Entonces China ahora necesita reponerse de los escĂĄndalos y tratar de evitar otros escĂĄndalos.

Mať rodinu je veľká zodpovednosť. Ak máš deti, vieš si predstaviť, aké sú pre teba dôležité. Snažíš sa ich chrániť a neustále sa bojíš, že sa im niečo stane. Dokonca keď sú tvoje deti ešte veľmi malé, tvoje starosti sú o to väčšie. Dnes hovoríme o škandále v Číne. Veľa malých detí bolo nakazených kontaminovanými produktmi – jedovatým mliekom. Dodnes bolo nakazených takmer 53 000 detí. Chemikália, ktorá spôsobila vážne problémy, sa nazýva melamín. Táto chemikália sa našla v mlieku čínskeho výrobcu. Výrobca tohto mlieka je dcérskou spoločnosťou firmy Nestlé. Veľa vzoriek bolo testovaných a takmer 10% z nich bolo kontaminovaných melamínom. Už štyri deti zomreli. Problém kontaminácie sa netýka len sušeného mlieka, ako informovali niektoré správy. Chemikália sa našla aj v čerstvom mlieku. Mnoho obchodov nechce predávať mliečne produkty. Melamín je zakázaná látka a výrobcovia tvrdia, že ju pridali do mlieka, aby zvýšili hodnotu proteínov. Nakazené deti majú symptómy obličkových kameňov a 104 z nich je vo vážnom stave. Choroba nepostihla iba Čínu, ale aj ostatné krajiny, kde sa mlieko dováža. Najhoršie na tom všetkom je, že niektoré správy tvrdia, že niektorí ľudia o tom vedeli, no napriek tomu nič neurobili. Čína sa zmieta vo veľkých problémoch, pretože táto krajina vyrába veľa produktov a mnoho z nich bolo škodlivých pre zdravie človeka. Napríklad veľa čínskych hračiek muselo byť stiahnutých z trhu, pretože boli nebezpečné. Minulý rok sa melamín objavil v jedle pre domáce zvieratá a zabil niekoľko mačiek a psov v USA. Čína sa teraz potrebuje zotaviť zo škandálov a pokúsiť sa predísť ďalším.

Das Jahrhundert, das als eine perfekte Periode für die Menschheit ausgesehen hat, eine recihe Periode voll von gutem Essen und ohne jegliche Sorgen über Einschränkugen, errinert jetzt an eine Periode der Nahrungsmittelverschwendung. Amerikanische Universitäten kamen mit einer Idee, wie man gegen Nahrungsmittelverschwendung in ihren Kaffes kämpfen könnte. Wer hätte denn je erwartet, dass der erste Schritt, den sie unternehmen würden, die Abschaffung von Tabletts sein würde? Wenn ich mich an meine Zeit an der Volks- und Mittelschule erinnere, war das Tablett etwas, das einem half, den Teller und das Besteck zu tragen. Man brauchte nichts anderes. Daher war es für mich ein bisschen unbequem, in einem Schulbuffet ohne das zu leben und außerdem konnte ich mir nicht vorstellen, wie die Abschaffung von Tabletts das Problem lösen könnte. Natürlich habe ich etwas (ziemlich Wichtiges) vergessen - man kann nicht unsere Speisesälle mit den in den USA vergleichen. Ist die ökologische Denkweise eine Modesache oder ist das wirklich eine Notwendigkeit? Universitäten von Kalifornien, Sanza Cruz bis zu Virginia Tech und auch Esswarendienste bemühen sich gemeinsam, die Nahrungsmittelverschwendung zu reduzieren und dadurch die Universitätskampusse umweltfreundlicher zu machen. Worum geht es also dabei? Wenn die Studenten Tabletts benutzen konnten, nahmen sie mehr Essen mit sich, das sie dann ehe nicht aufessen konnten. Sobald ihnen keine Tabletts zur Verfügung stehen, müssen sie sich auf eigene Hände verlassen - daher werden sie sich besser überlegen, welche Speise sie tatsächlich essen wollen und welche nicht. Auch die Tatsache, dass es keine Tabletts gibt, die gewaschen werden müssen, spart Wasser und Energie. Auch wenn dieser Plan wirklich schön ist und die Zahlen einen großen Prozentsatz an Wasser- und Nahrungsmittelersparnissen beweisen, kommt es mir noch immer ein bisschen unlogisch vor. Schauen wir uns das mal an - die George Mason Universität in Fairfax baute einen Speisesaal um 10 Millionen Dollar! Dieser Saal ist ( wie sie glauben ) perfekt, da er umweltfreundlich und mit batürlich abbaubaren Behältern zum Mitnehmen, unverpacktem Zucker und Ketchupverteilern ausgestattet ist und umweltfreundliche Putzmittel verwendet. Das alles ist wirklich perfekt, wenn man aber von der Nahrungsmittelverschwendung spricht - wozu gibt es alle diese Speiseeinrichtungen wie "Spaghettaboutit", Pizza, Pasta und "After All"-Dessertrestaurants? Sicher, wir leben in einem Zeitalter, wenn man es sich leisten kann, sich aus einer langen Speisekarte etwas zum Essen auszusuchen.Warum sollten wir also unseren Appetit dämmen, wenn wir Tabletts in unseren Buffets abschaffen können?

American universities came with an idea how to fight against food wasting in their cafeterias. Who would ever expect the first step they take will be abolishment of trays? When I look back to my primary and high school cafeterias, the tray was something what just helped you to carry your plate and cutlery. There was nothing more you would need. So it was a bit unconceivable for me to exist in the school cafeteria without it, and after all I couldn’t imagine, how the abolishment of trays could help with this problem. Of course I forgot one (quite important) thing – you cannot compare our dinning halls with those in the U.S. Is the ecologic way of thinking coming into fashion or is it really necessity? Universities from California, Santa Cruz to Virginia Tech and also food service companies are trying together to reduces food waste and so make college campuses more environmentally sustainable. So what is their idea about? When students were allowed to use trays, they were taking more food they were not able to eat anyway. As soon as they don’t have a tray, they have to rely on their own hands – so they will make better selections which meal they really want to eat and which not. Also the fact there are no trays to be cleaned, saves on water and energy as well. Even though this plan is really nice, and numbers show big percentage of savings on water and food, it still seems to me a bit illogical. Let’s look at it – George Mason University in Fairfax built dining hall for $10 million! This hall is (as they think) perfect, because it’s 95% sustainable, it is equipped with biodegradable to-go containers, bulk sugar and ketchup dispensers and it is using eco-friendly chemical cleaners. This all is really perfect, but when we are talking about food wasting – what are all these food stations such as “Spaghettaboutit”, pizza, pasta and “After All” desert stations for? Is this all really needed? Sure, we are living in a period of time when we can afford to choose from long list of meals. So why should we limit our appetite, when we can abolish trays in our cafeterias?
