End of Happy Meal toys.

In business you really have to focus on human behavior, if you know what is disturbing, or on the contrary attractive to people you will know how to success. One of these social features is a relationship between parents and children – at least their behavior in several situations. Generally, if a child sees something attractive, he/she starts to demand it and although parent doesn't allow or want to give it to the child, many times child really gets it in the end. How come? Children beg, children scream, children demand and cry. And for a parent these are the most exhausting moments, I mean try to calm down the child in the shop...We could write a book about parental! nervous break downs, but we don't have such capacities...fortunatelly. But marketing divisions are reacting to this behavior and for past decade incredible amount of advertisments and products have been focused on children. If you can get a child customer, you will probably get his parents. Now try to review how many products have been designed for children customers, just go to the next McDonalds and check Happy Meal – there will be always some nice toy included to the meal. An interesting news came from San Francisco, California where the city Board of Supervisors have voted against such toys in fast foods. The reason was right targeted – toys are increasing attractivity of unhealthy food. The rule will apply for meals that have more than 640 milligrams of sodium, 600 calories or more than 34 percent of fat included in nutrition. In European conditions it would be regarded as very healthy and proper step, but it may be perceived differently. For many busines! smen it is a step against their own „freedom“, but! on the other side it is people right to create laws on their own. Personally I am very curious about how it is going to be, because so far San Francicsco Mayor has anticipated this step. But the board voted 8-3 and still has a great power to ignore Mayor's veto, if necessary.
