Less highway deaths!

People driving cars these days are crazy. Their behavior reminds me behavior of selfish person who doesn’t care about anything or anyone. They are driving too fast, furious and thoughtless. People have no problem with driving cars under the influence of alcohol or even soft drugs. And now tell me to make my driving license! Sometimes I am feeling so uncomfortable while sitting in a car or bus. Daily news informs about another road accident and injured or killed people, so one of my biggest nightmares is my own tragic car accident. But while I am panicking here, highways in the United States have calmed down a little bit. As the Transportation Department said Wednesday! , the number of people dying on the nation’s roads has fallen to its lowest level in six decades. Traffic deaths fell 9.7 percent last year, what is the lowest number since 1950! “America’s roads are the safest they have ever been.” said Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, but he admitted “they must be safer.” In 2008 there were an estimated 37,423 people died on the highways, while in 2009 it was 33,808 what is probably result of combination of seat belts, safer cars and tougher enforcement of drunken driving laws. Side air bags, that protect the head and midsection or electronic stability control, which helps motorists avoid rollover crashes, are becoming standard equipment on many new vehicles and so make them safer. But it is probably also terrible economic situation which has its fingers in decreasing highway deaths. Difficult economic conditions caused that there are fewer people out on the roads these days as many of them use anot! her way of travel to save some money. Be that as it may, drive! rs shoul d start to rely more on their own abilities rather than seat belt and air bags. Their crazy drive can kill also someone else!
