Chris Cantell Discusses Health: Older Men Happier Than Older Women

Happiness. This is something people have ever desired to have. It is something abstract and probably it is hard to define it. But people can feel it. They know when they are happy and when they are not. This is really interesting in my opinion. But probably not only I consider this or every feeling to be something interesting, bit strange and mainly fascinating, while some scientists have done one research about this very feeling. The feeling of happiness and its impact to the people.

But not everybody can be happy. There change the periods of happiness and sadness in the life of every man. It is a kind of cycle. And according to one study there are differences among the people in different ages and gender in perception of happiness. So researchers found out men are happier than women especially those older. Because people have got various aims, their happiness depends on many factors. One of them is the shortfall between their aspirations and attainments as well as on the time they need to reach their target. Very important for people are also their successes.

Happiness is really relative, because someone can be happy and satisfied having less to contrary to other man who doesn’t have to be happy having great property and success. And according to the economic theory there is no man all over the world who is thoroughly happy, because when he attains goods then he wants more goods. This is not exact true saying about happiness in my opinion, but we can say when people have much they will want more and more, but I am not really sure if we can talk about the exact happiness in such cases.

According to the study made on men and women in different ages, older people need more things to reach the happiness than younger need. Generally young people about 20 want to have a dwelling, maybe car, good job and career and mainly happy marriage and family. Especially young girls prefer getting married and having children according to this research. It also says that women older than 64 are not as much satisfied with their family life, what could be caused by the fact they become retired and have no important work and they have nobody, or no child to look after.

This research was helpful and useful also for economists and public policy makers who can find out what people want and need to reach their own happiness and whether is better to make healthcare or do something else better for citizens to be satisfied with everything. But this is really very difficult thing and great challenge. But nobody knows whether these people will sometimes use results of this survey for making people happier…
