Researchers have found a new clue to the cause of Alzheimer's disease, according to a report that has been published recently.
Alzheimer's is a degenerative disease and most common cause of dementia, which afflicts by estimation almost 30 million people all over the world. Cure for this malicious illness, a purpose for memory loss and difficulties to remember recently learned facts, remains unknown as well as its cause, although it seems that scientists step by step get closer to the solution of the complex issue. Getting even a fracture closer to answering numerous question about Alzheimer's, which we don't understand know, brings new hope for people suffering from the disease and their relatives. Because to be able to heal, we need to know the cause first.
As Alzheimer's can not be cured now, presence of caregiver is essential. This role is often taken by spouse or other close relative, but there are also nurses specially trained for performing such function. Caregiving involves lot of time, patience, love and nerves. It is not easy at all to be alert 24 hours a day to prevent sufferer from switching on gas cook stove just because he doesn't realize that there is something wrong about it or from escaping from home and not being able to return because he has simply forgotten where he lives or from giving all his money to a kindly looking woman who rang at the door or... Yes, all these things may happen when you live with someone stricken by Alzheimer's. Thus it is necessary to change your every day routine and be prepared for accidents that may occur.
However, some prevention is possible, even though not all ways has been acknowledged by scientific research. It is advisable to practice some intellectual exercises, such as playing chess or completing crosswords and to have balanced diet. These activities may at least help you improve your life.
