How rare is a fresh glass of water

It has been already two weeks after epidemiologists in Alamosa, state of Colorado confirmed a presence of the salmonella bacteria in a tap water. The central town of Alamosa county has a population of over 8 thousand people, and already 73 of them are infected and this number may rise. The contaminated water is now useless for drinking, furthermore taking showers or do the washing is not recommended. The reason how the water got tainted is still undefined. The source of salmonella usually comes from eggs or raw meat. It may have symptoms of diarrhoea, fever, or strong stomachaches. Some sources mention even fatal consequences. Really rapidly are infected people with a weak immunity system, mostly children or elder people. These days is the water being chlorinated for elimination of the bacteria. When is the water going to be again usable, is uncertain. This situation can continue some weeks. Alamosa inhabitants are having hard times. The state National Guard is distributing them a fresh bottled water. Restaurants in town do offer free drinkable water, but they have to persuade people that eating there is not dangerous, as people are becoming really sceptical. Some of them handle with the problem by leaving the town & they go for an unplanned holiday or they just travel to visit their friends or relatives, where their basic needs (as nutrition or hygiene) can be safely satisfied. Everybody hopes this uncomfortable situation will be over soon, but every single glass of water will wake up memories of Alamosa people on this difficult time.
