Indonesian People Don't Know What to Do
by Jana Passova

Indonesia, the country with the highest mortality in the world, is one of the most affected areas with the bird flu. It began in 2003 and still lasts. Since this time have died about 101 in this country. They are infected by chicken or other sources. Even bed hygienic conditions, do not help. Indonesians are always in a contact with their animals. Children play with them. Ill chickens are in a daily contact with chickens that are kept to be eaten and sold. Indonesian people do not have information what to do with dead animals. And this is not just an insolvable problem of the small villages. A lot of people heard about the bird flu but until they don't have any personal contact, they don't understand the danger. Very often they take it like something what simply exist. Like many other diseases. This complicated situation could solve vaccinating. The problem is only how to do it. Is unthinkable to vaccinate all chickens that live in Indonesia and if it was possible, how many of them could be vaccinate in one day? Who will do these activities? There are some effective vaccination programs that exist in China, which could help. The bird flu is well known in the whole world. Own experience have not only countries of third world. There were well known cases also in countries, where anybody wouldn't expect it. The virus of this malign illness has infected more than 350 people around the world. 224 people died but this number doesn't need to be final.
