Playing with danger
by Claudia Sonea
What were you thinking is a good show and Ray Hunter should ask himself the same thing. If you wonder who is he, then you should know he has a doctorate of science in Herpetology and his main ocupation is self immunizing with snake venoms. His bizarre attraction for cobras got him the nickname of Cobraman, but due to his occupation he know lays in the hospital for two weeks already after being bitten by an eastern diamondback rattlesnake. At the age of 44 he states he has been bitten by 44 times, including this one, by venomous snake. Everything began in 1991 when he discussed with Bill Haast (Miami Serpentarium Labs) about self immunizing with snake venoms, afterwards he got a license to posses venom snakes and continued to immunize himself. Nowadays he uses a mixture of nine diluted venoms in my booster shots, but that did not helped him very much when the the 5- 1/2 foot rattlesnake taken from animal control officers bite him. The incident took place while he was cleaning the snake cages and despite the fact that the snake baited him on his right hand, he managed to drive near the hospital under the venom effects that rendered him a sense of drunkenness. Ray drove nearly unconscious to the hospital and collapsed when he got near to it. Now he is in renal failure and his right arm remains largely swollen. The doctors are not sure when he will be released. Meantime the snake was taken at a zoo in another state. Kids, this is a lesson to learn. Don't play with danger or you will have to face the consequences. If someone so experienced messed up things, think how you will end. Until further notice let's pray for him and wish to get well soon.
