Statistical researches are talking about numbers of people infected with the virus HIV (Human immunodeficiency virus), which causes AIDS. AIDS is an acronym for the Acquired immune deficiency syndrome or acquired immunodeficiency syndrome. It is collection of syndromes and infections caused by low level of immunity. Virus HIV attacks immunity system, which fails after the virus "wake up to life". The longest known incubation period of the HIV virus is nine years. Last year the estimated number of people infected with HIV was 40 million. This year the number fell to 33.2 million, which makes almost 7 million descent. Researchers say it is due to different methodology of counting that is used now by the United Nations and World Health Organization. Although scientists know a lot about the process of the illness, there is currently no known cure. To fight against the illness health organizations bet on the prevention. They organize campaigns, alert people about the dangers and provide them with as much as possible informations via media, advertisements, on websites, billboards or even personally... The World Health Organization is specialized agency of the United Nations, which was established in 1948 in Geneva, Switzerland. It coordinates researches about (mostly infective) illnesses like AIDS, SARS and malaria, also has programs to prevent and treat such diseases. To the main aims of the organization belong combat with diseases and promoting of general health of the people in the world. The new task of the health organizations and governments across the world is to build better cooperation and work on the campaigns and researches together to find better solutions, promote effective prevention programs and offer more efficient help to those, who already lost their immunity and hope.
